Instant Pot Chinese Steamed Eggs

Ingredients

  • 3 [[large eggs]]
  • 1/2 cup [[chicken broth]]
  • 1/4 tsp [[salt]]
  • 1/8 tsp [[white pepper]]
  • 1 tsp [[sesame oil]]
  • [[soy sauce]]
  • [[green onions]]

Steps

  • Lightly whisk eggs in a bowl. You want to break up the eggs but not create a lot of bubbles.
  • Slowly stir in chicken broth, salt and white pepper. Stir until evenly combined.
  • Pour egg mixture into a heat-proof bowl that will fit into your Instant Pot. I used a 6-inch diameter bowl.
  • Cover the bowl with foil. This will prevent condensation from dripping onto the surface of the eggs.
  • Pour 1 cup of water into the Instant Pot. Carefully place the bowl onto a trivet and then gently lower the trivet into the Instant Pot.
  • Cover and seal the Instant Pot. Cook on Manual HIGH pressure for 8 minutes. Allow a natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then manually release any remaining pressure.
  • Carefully remove the bowl from the Instant Pot. Remove foil. Drizzle with sesame oil and soy sauce. Garnish with chopped green onions. Serve immediately.
